Cucumber Salad recipe
3 large cucumbers, peeled, thinly sliced
1 large red onion, peeled, thinly sliced
1 cup white vinegar
3/4 cup water
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
dash ground cayenne pepper
dash dried parsley flakes
dash garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
dash dried leaf basil
1 rounded teaspoon DILL
1. Heat sugar and water until sugar dissipates (about 5 minutes), remove from heat. Add vinegar, set aside.
2. Slice the cucumber & red onion into a large bowl, add the remaining ingredients.
3. Pour the sugar, water, vinegar mixture over the cucumber, onion and spices in the large bowl. Mix and chill.
**If you are like us, you will go through this quickly, a day or 2. Don't be so quick to throw the liquid away. Add more cucumber, onion & another rounded teaspoon of dill and you can get another day or 2 out of it.
